Our first full day in Hong Kong was Sunday and we spent the afternoon at the Shatin Racecourse, Hong Kong Jockey Club. We had a box to ourselves at the Jockey Club, catered with food and drinks. There was a Chinese buffet lunch with several choices of various fish, fruits, vegetables, noodle soup, and desserts. I had some of the noodle soup with dumplings, but did not particularly care for the broth in the soup. There were attendants in the Jockey Club to help us place bets on the horses. Several of us chose horses either by their name or by a lucky number! We didn't have any big winners in our group, but everyone enjoyed the experience.
